Price guide

Our pricing is only a guide as we offer a bespoke service that we tailor to your individual needs. Please contact us for advice and quotations, we are more than happy to help with your questions.

Flat pack boxes:

We can supply individual flat pack boxes upon request if required.

Samples:

We can provide a sample of the decorated ware and we do sometimes recommend this if you have very precise needs or colour matching. We do have to charge a high unit price for this service but we may reduce your eventual invoice accordingly if the sample is converted to a large order. Please let us know if you feel you require this service.

The technical bit

We are always pleased to receive artwork, photographs and images. You can email them to sales@specialchina.co.uk or large files can be submitted via an online dropbox.

It makes life easier for us if you submit the original digital artwork whether in image or vector form.

For the best quality reproduction please use one of the following programmes: -

Adobe Creativesuite 4; Photoshop (.psd); Illustrator (.ai); tiff

Or we can accept :-

Most vector graphics files.

Jpeg (300dpi minimum) or PDF but the image may suffer loss of definition or crispness if we have to do any alterations like sizing or placement.

And for those of us who still think that a TIFF is a little marital disagreement on a Saturday afternoon..

A hard copy can be posted to us. We can also scan your paper artwork and manipulate it as required but this may result in a poorer quality image. If your artwork is on paper please ensure it is sent in a hard backed envelope to avoid creasing.

If you have any questions, possible problems or challenges regarding artwork don’t be afraid to ask our in house designer Frieda, who is always happy to help.

Terms & Conditions

Now for the boring bit but it does lay down some ground rules for both parties. Please read before placing your order.

All the ware we produce is hand crafted and the white ware is made using natural materials. This does sometimes lead to slight variations in shape, positioning of art work and colours. Most of our customers tolerate this as they like the benefits of supporting age old crafts and the dedicated personal service that goes with them.

Please note that due to the Consumer Rights Act 2015 we must advise you that there is no cancellation right for goods made to a consumer's specifications or that are clearly personalised.

Before you make your order, please read this section.

Art work:

Special China reserves the right to charge for any extensive design, manipulation or formatting work.

Art work, manipulation and designs created by Special China and not paid for separately will remain the property of Special China and cannot be used by others without our written permission.

Damaged or faulty ware:

Special China needs to be notified in writing (pictures are also helpful) within 2 days after termination of transit of any damage sustained in transit so that we can notify our carrier and obtain any possible pay out.

Any alleged shortages, damage to goods on arrival (other than damage sustained in transit) or quality issues must be notified to us in writing within seven working days after delivery otherwise we shall be under no liability in respect thereof and in other cases our liability (if any) is limited to replacing the damaged goods, reduction of invoice price by the price of said goods or issuing of credit note against the price of said goods (the means of settlement will be decided by Special China after discussion with the customer) and does not extend to any consequential or other losses suffered by the purchaser. We take pride in our products and packaging and appreciate any feedback- good or bad.

Contracts & ownership:

Special China retains the right to sell on or dispose of any ordered goods after 60 days if goods are not collected / accepted or remain unpaid for. This is without prejudice to any other rights we may have against the purchaser. We will retain the title to any goods until full payment is received and we reserve the right to take any action required to bring unpaid for goods back to our possession.

We may take action to recover any cost incurred before cancellation of the contract unless cancellation was agreed in writing by Special China. No order or contract may be cancelled by the purchaser except with our consent.

An acceptance of our quote will be deemed as confirming the contract according to our published terms, conditions and the contents of the quote.

Delivery and completion dates are given by us in good faith, but they are not contractual obligations and it is an express condition that we shall not be liable to the purchaser for any delay, no matter how arising, nor from any contingent or consequential loss or damage suffered by the purchaser arising from such delay. Our work is bespoke and issues beyond our control can arise. We will endeavour to keep customers fully informed of any such issue.

Contracts shall be construed according to and be governed by English Law. The purchaser shall submit to the jurisdiction of the English Courts.

Prices:

We will be entitled to add to the contract price any value added tax which is chargeable in respect of the goods and/or services supplied and to recover the same from the purchaser.

We will always aim to adhere to quoted prices but very occasionally unforeseen, substantial price increases in our materials or services required to produce the ware may have to be passed on to the purchaser. We will always keep you informed of any extra costs before we invoice for them.

We reserve the right to charge interest on invoices that remain unpaid 30 days after the invoice date. Our standard interest rate is the greater of 13% per annum or 4% over our bankers interest rate. The Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 applies to our invoice. Any queries regarding an invoice should be raised within 7 days of the invoice date.

A 25% to 50% deposit may sometimes be requested when the goods produced will have limited value to any other purchaser or Special China and any possible failure of payment will leave Special China with unrecoverable losses.
